What it is
A dental implant is a titanium post placed into the jawbone to replace the root of a missing tooth. Once it has fused with the bone, a custom crown is fitted on top. The result is a tooth that behaves like your own — you can bite an apple with it.
Who it is for
Anyone missing one, several or all of their teeth, with enough healthy bone to hold the implant. If bone volume is low, we can graft first.
How the treatment runs
On your first visit we take a 3D scan, plan the placement digitally, and place the implant under local anaesthetic. You go home the same day. After three to six months of healing, you return for the permanent crown.
Aftercare
Brush and floss as you would a natural tooth. We check the implant at your annual visit.
Common questions
Is implant surgery painful?
The placement is done under local anaesthetic and most patients describe it as easier than a filling. Mild soreness for two or three days afterwards is normal and managed with ordinary painkillers.
How long do implants last?
With good hygiene, the implant itself is designed to last a lifetime. The crown on top typically needs replacing after 10–15 years.
